In search of the moments that change your TOMORROW
SEPTEMBER 4th - 5th 2023
A space to walk it out and talk about together.
To think.
To laugh.
Maybe cry.
To share.
To create.
To reset.
To choose.

Join us on The Rambling Mind Escape
A walking, talking, thinking, gathering
You are staring out at the view, what are you thinking?
Are you letting your mind wander?
You feel you are at crossroads. Do you keep going, do you turn in a new direction?
Maybe these thoughts are on loop.
You remain stuck, unsure of the next move, you're in a location between the worlds.
Maybe you need some space to think.
In search of the moments that change your tomorrow.
Imagine
The fresh air, the challenge of a gentle hike, the company of good vibe people, the sound of streams flowing, sheep staring, the rough ground of the fells, the soft ground of the ferns.
A walking gathering, a small group, gentle walking, provoking surroundings. Discovering the untapped, exploring possibilities powered by new friends and the craft of conversation.
Opening the door to a new place. Discovering each other and self. Face to face in story, with fire and kin as our wealth.
Let's walk, talk, write, share, explore, discover and dream.

Our rest
Surrounded by mountains, with no other building in sight, Skiddaw House offers a real escape from it all. It's off-grid, out of reach of mobile signal and 3.5 miles from the nearest road.
At this stunning remote spot and you will find cosy lounges heated by wood burners, comfortable beds and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Plus a well-stocked shop with food and plenty of local ales, wines and whiskies.
Skiddaw House is an independent hostel. It was built as a gamekeeper's lodge in the 1800s and first began providing accommodation to walkers, runners and bikers in 1987.
